Superpower: Constructing the proverbial bus while it is racing full-speed ahead.

With an idealist’s heart and an entrepreneur’s spirit, Sara Toulson removes financial and operational barriers for socially innovative organizations. She has worked across the nonprofit and education sectors, from admissions at a private school in Connecticut to communications and development at an NGO in Tanzania. In addition to her role at Black Fox Global, she runs The Mindful Applicant, where she works with high school students through a social-emotional learning curriculum.

Originally from Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay, Sara lives in New Hampshire with her husband and two children. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Williams College and a master’s degree in business administration in social impact from Boston University. She loves family adventures, baking without a recipe, and thrift shopping.

I’ve always believed that if we spend our days working, our work should drive meaningful, positive change. I first tried the corporate route but quickly found my purpose in the impact sector, driven by the conviction that all people deserve to live free of suffering — and that systemic change can make this a reality. At Black Fox Global, I bring resourcefulness, adaptability, and a bias for action: launching projects quickly and iterating for impact.

An avid traveler, I spent a formative year in Tanzania and often visit family in New Zealand. I’m a lifelong book lover, with To Kill a Mockingbird as my favorite — Scout Finch first showed me the power of a defiant spirit.
