Superpower: Strengthening nonprofits by driving collaborative fundraising that honors their unique missions and expertise.

Wonu Owoade’s interest in the nonprofit sector began with volunteering in her youth and has grown into over a decade of fundraising experience with roles at international development and social impact organizations. She has worked with trusts, foundations, and bilateral and multilateral donors across Europe, the U.S., Africa, and Asia, gaining deep insight into donor motivations and fundraising best practices.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in ancient history and history from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in Africa and international development from the University of Edinburgh.

At Black Fox Global, Wonu leverages bespoke research and strategic advisory to help nonprofits secure funding and drive positive social change — especially in today’s challenging global landscape.

My passion for fundraising started young, through volunteering in charity shops in the UK. At university, I continued with fundraising and campaigning work, which set me on the path to a career in the impact sector — and I’ve never looked back. I believe in the power of collaboration to help others access the tools and resources they need to reach their full potential.

I bring a strategic mindset to my work to uncover impactful solutions for our clients. In my free time, I love traveling (Japan is my favorite destination!), walking in nature, and diving into true crime podcasts and series.
