Celia Breuer

Celia Breuer is a foundation partnerships and resource mobilization professional with experience securing and managing institutional and foundation funding across humanitarian and development contexts. She has worked across international NGOs, local organizations, and community-based groups to cultivate strategic partnerships, strengthen donor relationships, and connect resources with impactful programs and initiatives. She holds an MSc in Anthropology & Development, which continues to inform her commitment to locally led approaches and thoughtful engagement with communities and partners.

Earlier in her career, Celia founded Siku Njema Kesho, a community-based organization mentoring adolescents and young adults in Kenya, an experience that shaped her commitment to youth empowerment and community-led development. She also founded and leads the Feminist Fundraiser Circle, a peer support space where fundraising professionals can learn, connect, and support one another. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Celia brings a relationship-centered approach to her work, drawing on experience across international, national, and grassroots contexts.

My path into fundraising and partnerships began long before I worked in the sector professionally. Founding Siku Njema Kesho taught me the power of community, relationships, and creating opportunities for people to realize their potential. Since then, I have been driven by a desire to connect resources, ideas, and people in ways that help communities and organizations thrive.

I care deeply about approaches that center people, culture, and community, and about building systems that allow both organizations and the people within them to do their best work and sustain it. As an emerging coach and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, I am particularly interested in how individuals and teams grow, adapt, and flourish over time. Outside of work, I share my home with my partner and seven rescued pets and find joy through exercise and movement, tending my garden, and spending time in nature.
