Eliot is a creative problem solver, strategic thinker and relationship builder deeply committed to facilitating access to resources as a driver for social change. In her work with nonprofits and social ventures she approaches challenges with curiosity and a creative mindset, including diverse perspectives to think strategically and problem solve. Her interest in international development began while teaching English in Indonesia, where she witnessed firsthand the issues of a developing economy and the life-changing impact of education. She has designed and led programs in international nonprofits supporting the artisan sector as well as co-founded a small business, and these experiences inform her work as a social venture | nonprofit consultant. Throughout, her work has centered on creating opportunities for growth with an emphasis on ethical and equitable business practices, sharing knowledge through education, and preserving cultural heritage.
Eliot holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs in Economic and Political Development with a focus on Microenterprise Development, and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College with an International Major in Art History. Ever curious to explore new ways of approaching challenges to nonprofits and social ventures, she has earned Executive Certificates in Social Impact Storytelling from Georgetown University and Social Innovation Design from the University of Pennsylvania.
