Superpower: Harnessing equal parts empathy and strategy to create persuasive, impactful communications.

Harriet Spears is a Certified Fund Raising Executive, with a decade of experience spanning nonprofit management, brand strategy, and philanthropy. She has worked across sectors and issue areas, but is most passionate about accelerating resources towards gender equity and global justice. Harriet holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy.

My path into the impact sector has been guided by a simple personal motto: leave it better than I found it. As a child, I imagined a future as an artist or architect, drawn to creativity and design. Today, I’m grateful to channel that same creativity into work that supports a more just and equitable world.

Outside of work, I find inspiration in experiences that foster connection and curiosity — reading fiction for my monthly book club, taking group fitness classes, exploring new restaurants around Chicago, and planning my next adventure. A recent trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, with its vibrant art, food, and natural beauty, was especially meaningful.

I’m driven by the belief that everyone has the ability to make a difference, and that service helps us feel more connected to one another and the world. At Black Fox Global, I bring empathy, creativity, and strategy together to craft communications that move people to action and advance gender equity and global justice.
