Celebrating Women of Color In Leadership & Philanthropy
“Black women are the backbone of modern-day philanthropy.”
Portraits of Us: A Book of Essays Centering Black Women Leading Philanthropy, edited by Toya Nash Randall
Despite their vital contributions, women of color are often underrepresented in philanthropy. At Black Fox Global, our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) runs deep, leading us to launch the Black Fox Fellowship in 2019. Through this dynamic program, we support women of color in philanthropy, covering registration costs for the Opportunity Collaboration (OC) annual convening and providing ongoing support and connectivity.
Black Fox Fellows are ambitious women of color striving to create a more just, inclusive, and equitable world.
Meet the 2024 Black Fox Fellows below! Read about them here.
Why Black Fox Fellows?
The current funding landscape often perpetuates inequity, with power held by those who have benefited from wealth accumulation. This results in biased giving practices that harm underrepresented communities.
Many NGOs face relentless fundraising challenges, exacerbated by systemic racism and bias, with BIPOC-led organizations receiving less funding. By supporting women of color in philanthropy, we work to dismantle institutional racism and gender inequality, driving greater justice and impact. We see Black Fox Fellows as one step towards making philanthropy more equitable and accessible.
